Human-Self-Movabilities

Laban & Lawrence
published the first
“basic-sub-encyclopaedia”
of
‘all-round’ economic & dramatic
Human-Movement –
Effort.

Further advancement followed
in the WW2-following decades
firstly with the major work
The Mastery of Movement
by Rudolf Laban and Lisa Ullmann
which almost exclusively focused upon
Dramatic-Movement Skills & Scenarios*
————–
Much
true-educational advancement
was also being made by the then burgeoning
“Worldwide
Human Movement-Improvement
Community”;
and
Laban for All
was published by Newlove & Dalby.
————————————————————-
Decades continued passing.

Then in 2012,
for all its great advancement
of human-movement enablements and skills
the Laban-Movement-Base itself
became said to have
’caused’
one leading-follower to
“… want to escape…”.
A Framework For Understanding Movement
my Seven Creative Concepts.
by Warren Lamb & Eden Davies –

in which Lamb leads in
“re-describing, re-defining, or ‘adding-to’ “
Laban’s terminology –
e.g. Laban’s four domains
with 2-opposite movement-elements in each
SPACE
Direct or Flexible
[Lamb ‘drops’ “Flexible” and inserts “Indirect”.]
WEIGHT
Firm or Gentle/Strong or Light
[Lamb substitutes FORCE, but retains ‘Strong or Light’]
TIME
Sustained or Quick
[Lamb ‘drops’ ” Sustained” and substitutes “Slow”]
FLOW
Bound or Fluent
[Lamb “interprets” these as freeing and binding
(as the child grows and shrinks without any control)]

LIFEFRESH.NET PUBLISHER’S NOTE

‘Outcomely-really’ –
there is no serious conflict
between Laban and Lamb.

They are both “useful”.

========== To be continued===========

* The difference between
‘WW2-winning Economic movement’
and
‘Peace-Building-Dramatic movement’
being that
‘economic’ movement requires
“minimised/optimised-effort-elements”
whilst
‘dramatic’ movement requires
“exaggerated-&-underdone effort-elements”.
