There is a “human-healthy-development” 2018 publication
The Little Book of Yoga
in which it is found necessary to
add a ‘Preliminary-Practice’
namely
“Before beginning the ‘beginners’ “Corpse-Position”
[legs outstretched flat against the floor or mat]
it is wise to ‘stipulate’ first,
some daily practice of the
“Constructive Rest Position” [CRP]
wherein all that is required is to
lie flat as if ‘corpsing’ but
instead of keeping the legs straight out
raise both knees
to an angle of about 90 degrees.
NOTE
This CRP -Constructive Rest Position
eases the potentially-injurious
strain on the back
which the ‘Corpse’ position risks
most especially for existingly-impaired
and ‘inexperienced’ people.

NEVERTHELESS
The author, Eleanor Hall is an established Yoga teacher,
such that much if not all else in her book(s)
is very possibly “sustainworthy-&-sustainworthying”.
