The “meaning” of anything will be “more-and-more words”
The “sense”
and “the-actual-thing-on-the-ground”
is closer to what we are ‘addressing’.
“Splash!” gives us an immediate material sense of what the word is about.
HOWEVER –
‘Silver lining’
even given in the saying
“Every cloud has a silver lining”
does not immediately give a situational-sense of
a dark stormy-cloud day with the only ‘glimmer-of-light’ being
the reflected white light that ‘shines’ just at the edge of such clouds [sometimes!]
Neither is such a “silver lining” an equivalent of the “pot of gold” at the end of a Rainbow.
