“Helpful” Communication ?

People Skills‘s
Up-Front Checklist of
“12 Roadblocks to Good Intercommunication and Honest-Reasoning”
(should be ‘essential general education’ and ‘citizenship-training’).

Here is an email train with one of my “friends”
after I had been blown off my feet
by a gale-force gust of wind
last Thursday 14th Jan :
====================================================

OH ok why didnt you ask for help

Me xxxxxx
to xxxxxxxx

Indeed, “why?”
(i) Nobody nearby, which gave me time to find my-self and my (painful) feet again – in time to catch the bus;sit ‘motionless’ on the train;
likewise on the bus; and to get-myself-to-safety in my sister’s place -where we found no bones broken,’though the pain, and ‘sudden-snatches’ were alarming;
I could shuffle very slowly but not climb stairs
nor lie down, nor lean back, nor turn
 nor even make any but small slow gentle movements very easily :

what I needed was ‘lone-self-focusing-time, xxxxxxx.

So now I’ll just ask you an “advancing-humankind-question”,
as to which of the following
“blockages-to-good-intercommunication & honest-reasoning”
you ever find yourself doing ? –
and when do you also or otherwise find yourself doing
“Roadblock No.13”:- “Someone else is blocking effective communication”.
The “12 Roadblocks”
[from the beginning of People Skills by Prof Robert Bolton]
are
JUDGING
Criticising
Name-Calling
Diagnosing
Evaluatively-Praising or Blaming
SENDING SOLUTIONS
Ordering
Threatening
Moralising
Inappropriate Probing
Advising
AVOIDING OTHERS NEEDS OR CONCERNS.
Diverting
Phoney-Reasoning
Reassuring.
======================
Practical-Fact in this Case :-
I not only did not vitally need any help;
I didn’t have the time – nor the personal energy and focus – to ask for help !

Anyway, a doctor happened to be visiting my sister
and she saw that I didn’t need any urgent ‘interventional’ help;
nor was I asking for such;
I [and “it”, the injury] just needed to be ‘understood’ and allowed to go at our own naturally-careful speeds..
===================
Let me ask you a supplementary question too –
How would your knowing “Why I didn’t ask for help” now help any Relevant-Situation ?
🙂
